Rustic measuring cup and spoon organizers made out of pallet boards. This is a fun project to help organize your kitchen. You can customize these to match your style and kitchen decor.
Two things; I have a small kitchen and I also cook frequently. The combination of these two things often results in frustration with storage organization for my cookware. I used to just store my measuring cups and spoons in a kitchen drawer. However, with the amount that I cook , I wanted to have my measuring cups and spoons easily accessible as I am using them 2-3 times a day. I came up with this DIY project for making measuring cup and spoon organizers out of pallet boards at 2 am in the morning when I couldn't sleep. I absolutely adore the fact that I was able to customize them to match my style and kitchen decor. These have made my life in the kitchen so much easier! I wanted to share how you can make this project and I hope they can help you as much as they helped me.

NOTE: If you can't access pallet boards, you can go to a hardware store and tell an employee that you are looking for a piece of wood that is similar to a pallet board. They can also cut it the right size for you.
Note: I use Toolbox professional white rags anytime I am working with wiping anything off wood. Normal paper towels leave pieces of paper towel behind in the wood. The toolbox professional white rags do not leave any pieces of debris behind. I purchased a box of these at Home Depot for around $10.00 and they last a long time. This is the link for what they look like from Amazon : http://amzn.to/2psaAkZ
NOTE: I search google for a design that I like. I save the image and insert it into Microsoft word. Microsoft word has a ruler that I use to resize the image to the size of the pallet board.
Note: Step 20,21 &22 is an extra step that I do to add extra depth and create a slightly antique rustic look to my piece. This step can be skipped if you want.
Note: Make sure to have the measuring cups and spoons on your hooks when making your markings to ensure the correct placements for how they will hang on the hook and prevent overlapping.
